Yes we can! Engaging Deaf and Disabled People in Sport and Physical Activity

Wednesday 3 May 2017

Inclusion London has released a new resource to help you understand why physical activity and sport should be on a Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisation’s (DDPO) agenda and the important role DDPOs can play in ensuring that local physical activity and sport becomes fully inclusive.

The resource covers the following questions and more:

  • Why should physical activity and sport be viewed as a rights and equality issue for Disabled people?
  • Why are DDPOs well positioned to support inactive disabled people to get involved in physical activity and sport?
  • What are the barriers currently facing disabled people trying to engage in physical activity and sport and what solutions have DDPOs developed?
  • What steps can policy makers, funders and physical activity and sport providers take to increase the number of disabled people engaging in physical activity and sport?
