Information in your local area
Information is one of the biggest barriers to disabled people getting active. There are organisations that provide directories and information services about what is available in different areas but people and supporters are not always aware of these services. We have provided some links below to resource directories and activity lists.
Your local County Sport Partnership (CSP) – go to the CSP network website and search for your local CSP using the ‘Your CSP’ map, click on the link to your local CSP and look for the club finder or sports directory. You can then search for the activity or sport you are looking for.
Your local Leisure Trust – go to the Sporta website and click on the interactive map to find your local Leisure Trust. You should be able to find information on different physical activity and sport sessions near to you.
Better Leisure Centres – affordable opportunities to get active including gyms, swimming pools and exercise classes.
Local authorities – Your local authority may hold information on their website about leisure opportunities near you.
Activity Alliance events – go to Activity Alliance webpages for local sporting events and training related to disability sport.
